The word is a force; it is the power you have to express and communicate, to think, and thereby to create the events in your life.~ Don Miguel Ruiz
Little Gems of Wisdom & Fun from Mary Lynn Ziemer
We’ve all heard it before: “Words are more powerful than you can imagine!” But what does this really mean and how does it work?
It’s profoundly simple. Words are a means for us to express and describe our experiences, thoughts, beliefs, and opinions to others. And, they always have emotion attached to them. Why is this important to understand? Our feelings are constantly creating our lives. The words we use, especially when spoken repeatedly, deepen our feelings and ultimately become our experience.
World renown author, Don Miguel Ruiz’s, New York Times best seller The Four Agreements reminds us that our words are so much more powerful than we might imagine. In his book he states, “You can measure the impeccability of your word by your level of self-love. How much you love yourself and how you feel about yourself are directly proportionate to the quality and integrity of your words. When you are impeccable with your word, you feel good; you feel happy and at peace.”
In other words, one way to approach our daily life, to ensure that we feel good and are creating a life that we love, is by being impeccable with our words to ourselves. When we do this, it will naturally be much easier to speak kindly to and about others. If we want to be happy, if want more peace and calm in our lives, if we want to feel more joyful, we have to use our words in the correct way.
What’s the correct way?
We need to choose wisely and clearly what we speak about . We need to make a conscious effort to filter our words and speak about things that make us feel good, and use words that are loving and kind. This means that when something good happens to you or someone else, shout it out to the world by sharing it with others.
Yes, we need to speak about the good and positive things that happen to us in order to create more of them. Whatever we talk about, we create more of. So, think about the things you are speaking about. Is it something that you want more of?
When you get improved results of any kind: better health, new clients, great grades, more joy in your important relationships, etc., you need to talk about it. The more you talk about the good and great things going on around you, the better you will feel, and the more of it you will create. This applies to every aspect of your life, so don’t be shy.
If this feels awkward at first, keep practicing. The easiest way to make it a habit is to speak about your newfound abundance with words of deep gratitude, so others can hear you and be happy for you. You might simply begin with: May I share my good news with you? I am so grateful that this happened ….
Sharing your good news in this way will allow you to feel the joy in the gratitude.
And always remember, we are creating everything in our lives, including us. So, what is it that you are telling yourself day in and day out? We are shaping ourselves by the words we speak, so as Don Miguel Ruiz instructs:
"Tell yourself how wonderful you are, how great you are. Tell yourself how much you love yourself.
….Impeccability of the word can lead you to personal freedom, to huge success, and abundance.”
When it does lead to these things, express and feel great gratitude for the results you’ve created. Now shout it out to the world! Make sure that whatever comes out of your mouth makes you feel good! This simple practice will then create more success, and it will get you where you truly want to be…..Living A Joyful Life NOW!
Have an absolutely magical day full of love, gratitude, and fun, fun, fun!
