How to Create a Joyful Outcome in Every Situation

“The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change his future by merely changing his attitude.” – Oprah Winfrey

Little Gems of Wisdom & Fun from Mary Lynn Ziemer

You know how sometimes your day might be going in a really great feeling direction, or you just feel at peace, and then you receive some news or something happens, and it completely jolts you out of your current state of feeling? You feel as though it immediately "shifts" you! And all of a sudden, you're focused on that event or situation instead of where you really want to be? Well, you don't need an outside circumstance to dictate any "shift. What you want, instead, is to live from a calm mindset, so you can easily choose where you end up. You can make the decision to shift on your own, in whatever direction you would like your reality to go! So, make sure it's the direction that is allowing you to live your best life... one that gets you the end result that you want.

It’s so important to remember that where you are right now is the starting point for your next experience. That starting point is not the situation you are in, but the mindset you have in the moment. Let me repeat that... it's nothing to do with the situation, it's everything to do with your mindset.

Your mindset in the present moment determines how the present is going to evolve. How you feel ultimately determines that mindset. When you are feeling love and gratitude, and having fun, your mindset is calm. You’ll discover that the moment you are in right now will advance and develop into your desired outcome.

We have the incredible power to create our life, experience by experience, the way we want it to be, and that is amazing! You hold the key, so open your eyes, open your mind. Know that you have the power to make it happen just the way you want, and see that this moment is the only one that matters. Then, with a calm mindset, you will be able to shift it to what you want.

Here’s an example of this "mind shift".

One of my clients decided that ,after much thought, it would be best for a long-time employee to retire. He felt it was the right thing to do for the team, the company, and the employee. However, when he considered this outcome as the most desirable one, he believed that the employee would not agree and would not be willing to facilitate a smooth transition. In order to make the shift toward creating a joyful outcome, here’s what I asked him to do:

1. Create on paper, and in his mind, a new “story” that represents a win-win situation for everyone involved; circumstances that would feel really good for him when he speaks it aloud and writes about it.

2. Feel lots of love for all involved in the situation, including himself.

3. Feel lots of gratitude for the employee and recognize all of the blessings that are right in front of his eyes. See the employee as having the potential to handle the change in the most professional way and happy himself for the desired outcome. In other words, it requires a change in his feelings about this employee.

4. Envision the end result that represents achievement of the outcome that he wants.

In just one day, my client received a very professional email from the employee proposing an exit strategy that met all of my client’s needs. It happened without having any discussion at all with his employee and, of course, he was elated!

So, if you have a situation that you would like to change, always remember that you have the power to do it. Getting the most joyful outcome starts with a calm mindset. It will allow you to create all the magnificent things that you want. That calm mindset starts with the feeling of love and gratitude, and morphs into having fun with all of that love. This is what gives us the powerful mindset of calm. That calmness is the key to accomplishing our desires. The calmer we are, the more amazing our lives become.

Have an absolutely magical week full of love, gratitude and fun, fun, FUN!
