Keep Going...Stay Consistent...it's WORTH IT!

"If you are persistent you will get it. If you are consistent you will keep it." ~ Author Unknown

Little Gems of Wisdom & Fun from Mary Lynn Ziemer

"Keep going", "stay strong", "keep moving forward", "stay the course", "keep your eye on the prize". These sayings may sound cliche, but there is a reason we repeat these mantras. Cultivating persistence and consistency is SO worth the effort! It is a practice that will bring you good feelings, and it is crucial to your success.

As we enter the last week of January, it’s important to ask ourselves where we are with the intentions that we’ve set for ourselves this year. It’s a great time to make certain that we’re staying the course for the wonderful outcomes we’ve imagined.

How far are you from achieving your dream? If you are right on track with your plan, that is awesome! Congratulations! Pat yourself on the back. Celebrate a bit... and keep going! Keep moving forward every day as you have fun with it, one step at a time. If you’re feeling something else, just look at it as a wonderful opportunity right now in this present moment. See it as a loving little nudge, coming from within... a request for consistency so you can feel great and have more fun than ever before.

Only when we keep at it, when we keep going, will we begin to see evidence of what we desire.

And sometimes it is so incredibly close, that just one more action will get us there. When we stay focused and act on that next idea, that inspired action gets us closer yet.

The gift that persistence brings us requires consistency. Consistency seals the deal. It asks for patience, resolve, and determination through repetition. Repetition is the critical aspect of establishing a habit or practice. Think about the first thing you do when you get out of bed in the morning or the simple habit of washing your face. You’ve developed a routine by washing your face at certain times of the day. Now this practice is a habit. It’s part of your daily routine.

So, be persistent by creating a new habit that will serve you well toward achieving what your heart truly wants. We are creatures of habit, and studies show that at least 50% of our day is based on habits that we carry out everyday. A routine has good things about it. It makes our lives more organized and, in a way, "easier," as we do things almost automatically.

You can take great advantage of your routine and make it work even more so in your favor. You can include those important actions that will get you closer to your goal. As you do, you will feel so much better. Remember that we create everything in our lives by the way we feel. When we feel really good, we create greater calmness than ever before, and this allows us to speed up the journey.

So, keep your eye on your goal. Stay with that picture of what you want in your mind. Keep going by creating daily habits that make you feel good and bring you peace. Eventually, you will find that you have successfully developed a new and powerful habit. Not only will this feed your soul, it will become as automatic as washing your face... an essential part of your day.

I wish for you the feeling of aliveness in this very moment as you honor your memory and the promises you’ve made at the beginning of this New Year.

Have an absolutely magical day full of love, gratitude, and fun, fun, fun!
