"Words are containers for power, you choose what kind of power they carry." – Joyce Meyer

Little Gems of Wisdom & Fun from Mary Lynn Ziemer

Have you ever noticed this?

You talk about something—an idea, a challenge, a situation—and suddenly it starts showing up everywhere. Once, twice… sometimes over and over again.

That’s not coincidence.

That’s the power of your words at work.

Words are extraordinarily powerful—far more powerful than most of us realize.

So how does this actually work?

It’s beautifully simple.

Every word carries emotion. And emotion is constantly shaping your life. When you repeatedly talk about something, you’re not just describing it—you’re feeding it energy. Those words, layered with feeling, sink into your belief system and begin to shape what you experience next.

In other words:

What you speak… you strengthen.

Every time you retell a story, revisit a problem, or talk about a person or situation, the emotional charge around it grows. With repetition, those feelings intensify—and soon, they’re no longer just feelings. They become patterns. And patterns become reality.

Let me say it again, because it matters:

Words are powerful.

So here’s the question to ask yourself:

Do I want more of what I’m talking about?

If the answer is yes—keep going.

If the answer is no—it’s time to change the conversation.

This doesn’t mean pretending something doesn't exist or never asking for help. It means choosing your words with intention. It’s not about denial—it’s about direction.

Try these 5 simple ways to use your words more powerfully:

1. Pause before you speak.

Give yourself a moment to filter your thoughts before turning them into words.

2. Choose words that feel good.

Especially in areas of your life you want to improve, speak in ways that feel loving, hopeful, and expansive.

3. Talk about what’s working.

Notice progress—big or small—and give that your attention instead of reinforcing what isn’t.

4. Use your words to lift others.

Encouragement and kindness ripple outward—and they always come back.

5. Speak about what you want (not what you don't!)

Describe your desires beautifully. Be gentle, positive, and supportive—especially with yourself.

At the end of the day, it’s not just the words—it’s how they make you feel.

Feeling is where the real power lives.

So choose your words wisely.

Let them be a conduit for joy.

And watch what begins to unfold.

Wishing you an absolutely magical week full of love, gratitude and fun, fun, FUN!
