Direct Your Movie

"No matter what happens tomorrow, for the rest of my life, I’m happy now…"

~Bill Murray, Groundhog Day

Little Gems of Wisdom & Fun from Mary Lynn Ziemer

Your life is like a movie. And YOU are the director. You are unique, original, brilliant and magnificent... with the ability to create an incredible, awesome movie script, each and every day. So, be sure that you create your daily movie as something wonderful, joyful, and fun! Create something that makes you happy NOW... the only time that truly matters. The place where we create our life from.

How can you start creating your "perfect life" movie now?

1. We live our life, one frame at a time, within the movie called “Today.” The best news of all is that WE get to determine the outcome we want! We are in charge of creating it based on how we feel. It is entirely up to us how much love, gratitude, and fun we pour into each experience in front of us.

Whatever situation you are facing may feel very permanent, but it can be changed on a dime. You know what I’m talking about. We’ve all had the inspiration or wisdom in one of those moments that created the outcome to something better, or even something wonderful. It happens through an insight, a follow-up word, or action. It’s quite amazing when we see it come together, often effortlessly!

2. We think in pictures. Why do I say your life is like a movie? Because, the words we use simply translate into a picture from our imagination. It is that picture which becomes the outcome of our reality. For example, if I say "chair," you’ll see a picture of a chair in your mind. You’ll be able to describe it to me in detail. That’s why it’s so important for you to have a picture in your mind of what you want. You are only limited by how far you can stretch your imagination. So, be sure to expand it as far as you can. Reach for the Universe to get the outcome of your dreams.

Whatever it is that you want to achieve, no matter how big or small, you must finish your thought with a snapshot in your mind. This picture represents the most joyful, fun outcome that you can imagine. The more authentically happy you are, the calmer your mind will be. That calm mind allows you to easily create the picture of what you truly desire.

3. Choose happiness NOW. This is so important! If you had a life that you LOVE today, what does it look like? What fun things would you be doing in your job, and how does work unfold for you? What adventures fill your soul with joy? How about your health? When you imagine having fabulous relationships with all the people in your life, how does that look to you? How do your children show up? How about your boss, partner, family, friends, spouse, etc.? Read this famous Abraham-Hicks quote as a reminder.

We are really advocates of just getting as happy as you can be—which takes care of everything. Even if you don’t have reason to be happy—make it up. Fantasize it. Make a decision that you’re going to be happy one way or another—no matter what. “No matter what, I’m going to be happy! If I have to ignore everybody; if I have to never watch television again; if I have to never pick up a newspaper again, I’m going to be happy. If I never have to see that person’s face again, I’m going to be happy. If I have to see that person’s face, I’m going to find something to see in that person’s face that makes me happy. I’m going to be happy. I’m going to be happy. I’m going to be happy.” ~Abraham Hicks

4. Focus on it. Once you have a picture that represents the outcome you desire, repeat it over and over again. Feel the joy of having it. When a topic from your movie pops into your mind, use your picture, feel the associated positive thoughts and feelings only, nothing else. Get excited about it! Create the scene, the situation, the circumstances, and the people in the way YOU want them to be, then put that snapshot in your mind.

Remember, you are the director, producer, scriptwriter, costume designer, cameraperson, technical advisor, and every other role. You create every part of every scene. You create all the characters, all their lines, and yours.

In order for you to fuel the creation of the outcome you want most quickly, you have to feel really, really good. So use these pictures that make you feel great! Also remember, love, gratitude, and fun must be a part of every scene, including every person’s personality.

Now, don’t worry about how it will happen. Just have lots of fun focusing on the end result that you want in your mind. Know that it is a done deal. Feel that it is already happening for you now, and you are on your way to creating the best movie ever!

Have an absolutely magical day full of love, gratitude, and fun, fun, fun!
