FUN is a Pillar of Happiness

"Follow your dreams. Just make sure you're having fun while you're doing it!" ~Chris Brown

Life is supposed to be fun! Do you find yourself using the phrase “I’m fine”? If so, maybe it's time to seek out a little more fun. "Fine" is not enough... it's important to feel "great," and have our personal love tank full! We must strive to find sources of feeling good, and make each day "fun" in order to achieve higher levels of happiness and calm. Do you know what having real fun means to you? Sometimes you may think to yourself, "The most fun thing for me would be to cross some items off my to-do list. I'd feel so much better if I could get something more accomplished." But actually, this could be an act that is the opposite of self-care and self-love (which are truly at the heart of fun!) If you take time to do something that's truly fun for you, even if just for a short period of time every day, you will actually be able to better tackle that to-do list. This requires making a choice to say "yes" to real fun, at times when saying "yes" actually does feel better. Sometimes, it may even feel like fun to say "yes" to an endless realm of possibilities outside of your norm.

The same also holds true with saying "no" at times when it is not something that is aligned with your vision, and not something that brings you joy. While saying "no" may be difficult at times, it is also crucial to your self-respect and self-esteem to only make promises you want to make... and that you know you can keep.

Instead, say "yes" to the endless realm of fun possibilities and choose something that will put a smile on your face and make you laugh. Important things in your life can be just as easily approached in a light-hearted, joyful way as in a serious way. Which truly feels better to you? Remember, how you feel creates your world, so when you make the self-care choices that feel really good, others around you will always benefit.

We can actually take a few cues from children, who grow rapidly through fun. Children come from a place of love... and they are naturally created to love more and more. They live in the present moment, and they see fun everywhere. They love to have fun! Children also know and feel that they are special and precious. All of these childlike traits will serve you better than you can imagine. These traits free your spirit and allow your creativity to flow. How do you do this? Very simply, shift out of your head into your heart more often. Open your heart, first to you, and then you’ll make the best, most loving, and fun choices for yourself and those around you.

So, start by loving yourself even more. Be silly, and look for things to do that make you smile more and laugh often. Seek out ways to laugh. Find a way to make everything you do fun! Be more light-hearted and laugh easily at yourself and with others. Find a way to brighten your day for yourself and others. When you do, you will ensure that you feel good and have more peace. This is the way to fill your personal love tank and create a happier life for yourself and loved ones. You will begin creating even more great and wonderful experiences in your life that feel joyful, calm, and fun! Laughter and smiles, like all other positive aspects of life, come more easily with practice. So, lighten up! :) Begin establishing this new habit that will have lasting and truly magical effects on your life. Now, stand back and watch how good it feels to effortlessly and positively impact yourself and all those who are around you!
