Fill your love tank to "overflowing" by practicing random acts of kindness!

A wonderful way to impact the world and feel love for yourself and others is to practice random acts of kindness. These are simply unexpected gestures of kindness to brighten someone’s day.

Recent and extraordinary research exploring the role of social networks in shaping our behavior has proven that much of our behavior is literally contagious. Studies show that our attitudes and actions not only impact the people we interact with directly, but that each individual’s influence actually extends to people up to at least 3 degrees. While this may not sound like much, the influence adds up. Researchers estimate that there are nearly 1,000 people within 3 degrees of most of us. So, when you consciously choose to think, speak, and act in positive and happier ways, you are unconsciously shaping the behavior of an incredible number of people in the same way!

How will you know when your love tank is "overflowing"? You'll know because you will act without expecting anything in return except those wonderful warm and fuzzy feelings you will get when you've put a smile on someone’s face and a glow in their heart.

To help you get started here are a couple random acts of kindness for you to try out.

1. Appreciate someone today.

A little recognition can make a world of difference in someone’s life. Right now, pick up your phone, or open your email or text, and contact just one person today. Let them know that you are grateful for them and that you appreciate having them in your life. Share something specific with them that they have done or a positive quality that you are thankful for. It is so simple to do, yet the ripple effect is far reaching. Imagine how wonderful you will feel and the many lives you will touch if you make this a habit everyday!

2. Smile at strangers

By simply smiling, you are passing along the greatest contagion… joy! Mirror neurons in your brain cause you to yawn if you see someone else yawn. It works the same way with a smile. The mirror neurons light up, you smile, and your happiness level rises.

Even just one sincere smile can make a truly amazing, positive difference in someone’s day. Without saying a word, you are letting that person know that you see them and that they matter. Plus, studies prove that the physical act of smiling, evokes feelings of happiness in you too.

So, pass along these simple acts of kindness and watch the beautiful ripple effect unfold. Then, watch as you impact your world in unimaginable ways!

If this message inspired you, don't forget to forward it to a friend, colleague, client, or family member and brighten their day as well!
