Choose Happiness Today and Everyday

"Whatever a person's mind dwells on intensely and with firm resolve, that is exactly what he becomes." ~ Shankaracharya

Little Gems of Wisdom & Fun from Mary Lynn Ziemer

Authentically happy people use specific strategies that allow them to feel empowered in creating what they want in their lives. They have great confidence that whatever they desire is achievable, and all they need to do is wake up today with a plan to create the life they want. They expect to make each new day the best day possible, one filled with joy and fun, one where they exceed their goals both professionally and personally. They learn to make love and gratitude part of their daily routine and it’s woven into the fabric of their day. They express this in the moment they are living it, and create each day through their thoughts, words, and actions. This is the foundation from which we want to begin every day!

Remember, we always create what we expect and focus on. So… what do you expect when you wake up each morning?

Dr. Nicole LePera, Cornell trained holistic psychologist, stated this in March 2019:

“The brain is an input-output machine. Its input is what you think, who you spend time with, and what you consume. The brain has a reticular activation system (RAS) which acts as a filter. There is WAY too much going on in our daily environment….so the RAS filters what we become aware of in our day, every day, second by second."

We’ve all had the experience of thinking about a certain car or a song and then suddenly it’s everywhere! They’ve always been there, but the RAS has filtered them to our awareness because we’ve been mentally focused on them. It’s the mind that creates perception. It’s the mind that creates reality. No two people experience reality the same.

Each day, it's so important to set a tone for your day with thanks, in advance, for what you desire. Why? Because what you feed your mind and how it makes you feel is literally creating your reality. Do you feel you need to make some adjustments with your thinking to get a new, different, and better feeling reality? If so, here are some new thoughts you can feed your brain each morning when you get up.

Do you want to wake up focused on feeling well rested and energized?

Say this to yourself (or say it out loud...or, write it down for even better results!)

"I am so grateful that I feel so good today. I have lots of energy to get everything done in an easy and relaxed manner."

Do you want to wake up expecting and believing that today is the best day of your life?

Say something like:

"I'm so thankful that today is the best day of my life! I feel more love and I have more fun than ever before."

Do you want to wake up with gratitude on your mind for what you already have?

Say something like:

"I am incredibly grateful for everything that I already have in my life. Thank you!"

Do you want to wake up expecting that your spouse or partner, friend, or colleague is going to treat you with respect and kindness?

Say something like:

"I am so grateful that as I love everyone and everything, including myself. I feel greatly loved by others. Everyone respects me and treats me with kindness."

Do you want to wake up with focus and belief that your new client appointment is going to turn into a sale?

Say something like:

"I am so grateful that I make 5 new client appointments today. Thank you!"

Do you want to ace an exam?

Say something like:

"I am so thankful that I achieve an A on my exam today. I am calm and well prepared."

Do you want to feel physically well today?

Say something like:

"I am so thankful that my physical body is radiantly healthy today and I feel so good."

Do you want to have a day full of FUN, integrated into each and every moment and activity you have planned?

Say something like:

"I am so grateful that I have lots of fun today. I remember to smile and laugh often!"

Remember, you literally create what you expect, so be sure to focus your mind only on what you truly want.

Once you have a foundation of feeling good, with lots of love and gratitude for whatever you have already created, the added element of your imagination is required to turn your expectations into reality.

Picture in your mind what it is that you want. Play that picture over and over and over again. Focus on how good it feels to have it. Repetition and those good feelings are the key. As you tell yourself a new story, and repeatedly put a new picture in your mind, your brain develops a new neural pathway, creating new expectations. The more we repeat it, the faster we create it. As we repeat it, we begin to believe it more and more, until we feel a sense of knowing. That knowing comes from calm.

We can only create what we want consistently when we are consistently calm. We are seeing our intention created as we are in the flow of good feelings. We feel confident. When we take action from this place of calm and knowing (also known as patience) it is truly inspired, and always most appropriate and effective.

So, start by feeling good! Put a clear picture in your mind of what you want to create right now. Stay calm, and expect and trust that you are going to create just that. As you do, know that you have the power to create your life in any way that you want it to be!

Then, just imagine what is waiting for you as you begin to tap into even more of that power of your mind, which starts with being authentically happy. You can grow and change in ways you never expected. You can realize the life you truly desire! And it all comes from the love, gratitude, and fun that creates greater and greater levels of calm.

Have an absolutely magical day full of love gratitude and fun, fun, fun!
