Do you find yourself wondering what others might be thinking or feeling about certain topics? We are often curious about how others might perceive a situation, another person, or even how they might perceive us. We are always so interested in the opinions of others. But, the truth is, we should be most interested in our very own thoughts, beliefs, and opinions, and how they make us feel. In fact, you should most importantly be aware of how you are feeling in any given moment, throughout the day.
Here’s the key. Whatever you are thinking about (and your perspective about it) right now, it is causing you to feel a certain way. Your thoughts are the content in your reality. They represent the direction in which you are headed with the creative process. And your feelings are the fuel by which you create your reality. So, when you empower yourself by putting your focus and priority on feeling good, you pave the way to your next good-feeling experience. In other words, when you feel good consistently, you can create whatever you want. So, in fact, the very most important question to ask yourself is this: “What am I feeling right now?”
Why is this crucial in creating the most amazing life for yourself? Because only when we feel good, when we are living from our hearts, do we create what we truly desire. That’s why we need to check in with ourselves throughout the day and make sure we are feeling lots of love and gratitude. We also need to make sure we are having lots of fun! This is what makes us feel soooo good.
How can you begin to feel even better?
Yes, we can always feel better! No matter how wonderful we feel, there is no limit to how much more wonderful we can feel. Love is limitless! So when we feel more love than ever before, we will feel better than we have ever felt before.
First, make sure that you are taking care of you and your future experiences by choosing what to focus on. You must be keenly aware of how each thought that your mind locks in on is making you feel.
When you feel good, you are thinking about wonderful things. And feelings are always the determining factor of the experiences we will have. They determine what our lives are going to look like. It's so worth repeating ☺.We create everything in our lives by the way we feel. So, only when we feel good, do we create what we desire. Therefore, it is crucial that we pay attention.
Lisa Feldman Barrett is a renowned neuroscientist and author of How Emotions are Made, Secret Life of the Brain. She states that, "Not only do you literally construct your environment—your reality—by virtue of what sensory input from the physical environment your brain selects; it admits some as information and ignores some as noise."
Barrett goes on to say that, “Our emotions are not automatic, but rather can be practiced and programmed to result in new behavior". (So, a new behavior creates a new outcome.) "Ultimately, the bodily experience influences a subsequent emotion and action, thereby creating a self-fulfilling prophecy." (For example, what you believe, you create.)
How incredible it is that we can self-regulate our emotions! We get to decide how we feel. It’s the most amazing bit of information to know and understand.
What can we do to create more fabulous feelings? We often try to overcomplicate it, but it’s profoundly simple to do.
Just follow these 3 tips:
1. Smile and laugh A LOT! Laughter is scientifically proven to make you feel better and it heals us as well. Watch only tv and shows that make you laugh and feel good, or try one of my favorite techniques. Smiling is the easiest shortcut to feeling good and shifting your mood so while driving, I often concentrate on smiling at other drivers, even if they are not looking at me. Whether changing lanes, or sitting at a stoplight, or moving through my drive-thru for my morning drink, it feels good to put a smile on my face and make others smile. And guess who’s the biggest recipient of good feelings? You are!
2. Connect with nature. Spend just 5 minutes in nature, closely watching some wildlife or enjoying the green bursts of color from new buds on trees, or flowers popping up from the ground. It will lift your spirits and make you feel good fast. Or, even just hug your pet! Animals, especially pets, provide us with so much love and good feelings instantly. Do you love yourself as much as your pet loves you? You must learn to love yourself unconditionally... simply because you exist.
3. Feel more gratitude. Be grateful for even the smallest of things, as well as the big things, in your life. There are endless things to be grateful for, and feeling gratitude is one of the fastest ways out of a funk!
Now for the easiest and simplest way to feeling good fast. This is the way to preventing getting into a funk at all. Here’s how you do it: Love yourself, everyone and everything more than ever before. In other words, carry love before you always (in all ways), wherever you are, no matter what. Send others love from your heart before you meet with them or talk to them on the phone. As you walk from place A to place B, imagine walking through the air that is love. Allow everyone the right to be perfectly on their path.
When we choose the most loving thoughts, words, and actions of love, gratitude, and fun, we always feel so good. And practicing these techniques often allow you to sustain the good feelings. And when you feel good, it’s easier than ever to create more of what you want in the only moment that matters... NOW.
